Coffee afternoons - good recurring event for LGBTQ students?
Wednesday marked the LGBTQ Association's first event - a coffee afternoon in the LGBTQ room.
Incidentally, I don't have any photos of the event; the idea was for people to socialise in a safe space. Taking photos is kinda subjective :)
The turnout has a pretty good turnout and a laid a solid foundation for the societies fair and the barcrawl. One or two even joined Kai and Ashleys' door-knocking crew.
Given the success - and the excess supplies of tea/coffee - the commitee are considering making it a regular thing along with our other events. However, one of my campaign promises was a pledge to involve LGBTQ students, so we're going to run on their decisions. So I've created the poll below to evaluate the opinion of LGBTQ students.
Obviously putting it on the Internet means that autonomous liberation is negated (can't be restricted to LGBTQ students); however the Internet generally casts doubt on such things and I think the impact is negligable.
